Let’s Practice Intercession

I don’t know about you, but I like to try and keep up with the news as best I can, especially world news. Obviously the world is giant, so I can’t know everything, but I try to stay relatively well-informed.

Even if you’re not a news junkie, I’m sure you know that things are a bit crazy right now. Wars are happening around the globe, people are perishing, political unrest is high, and hope is at an all-time low. International realities are difficult to navigate, and it can be easy to feel powerless in times such as these.

As things around the globe continue to grow more and more unstable, I feel a pull to pray. Though I don’t have solutions for incredibly complex realities people are facing, I know that God does.

I feel the need to intercede for nations through the rest of the year, and I invite you to join me.

I’ve created a new resource to encourage you if you want to take part in this challenge. It gives some guidelines to remember while praying and a sample calendar that I’m going to follow through the rest of the year. You’re welcome to use that or make your own.

Either way, I encourage you to ask God how you can partner with him and others in bringing God’s kingdom to the earth. One way is through praying, but I hope that we feel called to follow it up with some action. We can give, serve, help, encourage, and so much more.

I believe that prayer changes things. But I also believe that prayer changes us so that we can take the kingdom into our communities.

Let’s intentionally practice intercession and see how God moves in nations, communities, families, and in us.

If you’re looking for more resources on prayer, I also wrote a book called Pray for All People, which is all about prayer, intercession, and partnering with God through prayer. You can get a copy on Bookshop.org or Amazon.
