Happy New Year!

We have officially made it to 2025. It’s a new year filled with resolutions, hopes for the future, and the momentum to make meaningful changes in our lives. I don’t know about you, but I feel such momentum at the beginning of this new year.

At the end of 2024, I felt a pull to make space and make room. That was my phrase for December. After a November characterized by not wanting to do much, December felt like a month for getting things done. I did a deep clean, got rid of unwanted items, unsubscribed from mailing lists, and completed tasks that I had been putting off for months. December was my month to close the chapter on some things so that I could make room for the new.

I’m not always a word of the year type of person, but what I keep hearing for 2025 is: open. And I’m open to what that means.

“Open wide, you gates.
Open up, you ancient doors.
Then the King of glory will come in.
Who is the King of glory?
The Lord, who is strong and mighty.
The Lord, who is mighty in battle.

Open wide, you gates.
Open wide, you ancient doors.
Then the King of glory will come in.
Who is he, this King of glory?
The Lord who rules over all.
He is the King of glory.” Psalm 24:7-10 (NIRV)

I want 2025 to be marked by an openness to God, his ways, and his Kingdom. I want to be open to walking through the doors that God opens for me and to the opportunities presented. I also want to be open to connection, community, and growth.

If you have a word of the year for 2025, drop it in the comments below! Let’s chat about it!

I’m excited to see what 2025 has in store. I also have a few exciting projects that are in progress that I cannot wait to share with you later this year.

Happy New Year! I hope and pray that your year is marked by grace, rest, and intimacy with God. May we be open this year to the things of God and closed to anything that is not of God. May this year be filled with blessings, fruitfulness, and joy.
